Sydney Manga and Anime Show 2010

As some of you may know SMASH was on the 7th of August. Would have posted the picture a lot sooner if it wasn’t for other commitments. For the full gallery of photos, you can find them here.

Was kinda disappointed that I missed out on getting Yuko Miyamura’s autograph being one of the 10 or so people getting cut offdue to time constrants. Oh well I’m sure there is always next time.

It was already 8:30am and the queue was already this long…lucky I had my tickets pre-ordered so I take the short queue.

The convention hadn’t started and people were already doing the caramelldansen…

SMASH_2010_08

No idea whot his guy was but he was rockin’ some awesome riffs pretty much for the entire morning.

SMASH_2010_04

Intense

SMASH_2010_21

I’m pretty sure I saw this guy at Supanova as Ichigo…

SMASH_2010_89

Met up with fellow comrade Reijin.

SMASH_2010_10

Aside from the cosplayers you had you usual stalls…

SMASH_2010_09

This one was suprisingly different…they weren’t lying either.

SMASH_2010_11

You also had your big mechas…

SMASH_2010_12

…and the small ones. No convention is complete without them too.

SMASH_2010_91

After lunch I went with Reijin exploring the area. We found some interesting Japanese related machines, thought it might have been a pachinko machine.

SMASH_2010_94

An Eva themed machines >.>

SMASH_2010_14

Damn, hold on what if you just a non-otaku guy?

SMASH_2010_13

Guests were Mattgreen Field from ADV and Tiffany Grant seiyu for Asuka in the English Eva series.

SMASH_2010_41

Some outstanding cosplayers could be seen like the little Tohou loli’s.

SMASH_2010_108

They also had your usual Samurai’s from Samurai Champloo…

SMASH_2010_16

Your Amestris military personel…

SMASH_2010_23

A few pokemon running around could be seen

SMASH_2010_25

Plenty of maids, I don’t think a convention is completet with maids…

SMASH_2010_26

Heeeeeaps of Vocaloids (no seriously…)

SMASH_2010_27

So cute ^.^

SMASH_2010_29

I wonder if they wore the dresses on the way here?

SMASH_2010_33

Lots of Miku’s and Luka’s…

SMASH_2010_44

Before you knew it, the day was already over. Shame it was only for one day, it felt really quick for a convention.

Now to prepare for Animania which is coming up in September in Redfern. I already have my tickets pre-ordered, you can ensure that I’ll be there too. See you soon!
