It’s been a while since I’ve done a review or a post even. I specifically chose Remilia because she hadn’t been heard of by many people. I can’t say I have many Griffon Enterprise figures nor am I a big fan of them, however they managed to catch my attention with this particular figure.
Basically the pose and level of detail were just enough for me to find this figure worthy whether they just be Touhou or figure collectors in general.
There are a few defects here and there but not nearly enough for me to detest the figure, majority of figures these days come with them anyway the only question is noticability and amount of them as these figures are mass produced.
I tend to try not to point out the defects and do my best to highlight the psotives of each figure instead.
The flame is dettachable funnily enough there is no plastic pole for the flame to attach too, instead they fit grooves in the flame so that her fingers sit nicely inside.
Remilia really loves her bows…
More bows, her dress was superbly done, some would say its a simply design, however for me its jsut right.
Wait, isn’t Remilia’s clothes more for elderly people!? Oh wait she is a 500 year old vampire…
Excellent paint job on the hat, also did I mention her hat is removable?
Flame on!
I’d like to reinforce the outstanding paintjob especially on the fingernails, so very precise…
Remilia sure does have a little cheeky and mischievous smile, she must be plotting something.
I find her a bit more graceful without her hat, her hat gives her more cuteness points though.
Like all figures they have their good and bad angles. For Remilia I don’t think I was able to find too many, even the back of her looked pretty dynamic as she prepares to throw her spear.
Usually characters with weapons are immortalized in figure form the figure is given a sub-title in this case it is ‘Spear the Gungnir’ which is kind of silly, with a bit more effort they could have maybe come up with something better.
Remilia striking from the darkness…she’s a vampire, I don’t think the photoshoot would have been complete if I didn’t have a night shot of her.
Finishing off with some creavite typography inspired and assisted by Kodomut as well as Nutcase23′s ever helpful Lightroom tips.
With the way Griffon Enterprises makes their Touhou figures, I really hope they continue as I’m hoping to see a Flandre Scarlet version with a pose rivaling her sister. Her Christmas tree wings would be a bliss to any photography as they are assorted with many colours.

lovely photos =3
could consider getting a macro lens =D
Beautiful photos!
I do wish ALTER or GSC would make Touhou figures though.
Thanks ^.^ Strange as why Alter or GSC hasn’t made any figures. I’m not huge fan Griffon Enterprise but they really delivered this time as compared to their previous figures. I can only hope for equally as dynamic figures as Remilia in the future.
+3 macro filter is good enough for me for now xD
Although she’s not as good looking as I had hoped, nonetheless it’s a pretty good figure. I learned that you can’t trust the manufacturer’s photos…. I was expecting something more loli-ish but she actually looks somewhat mature. Perhaps the nendoroido was a better choice…
The pose was good enough for me, the pose is pretty much the highlight for me as well as the weapon. If you wanted cuteness like you said the nendoroid was probably a better choice.
Honestly, the pros weren’t enough to justify the price. Touhou figurines’ price seem to be always inflated. But never mind that.
Hmm, do check this out: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like
I’ve been playing around with the features on my blog, seems quite nifty. I can put facebook “like” and “comment” features on each blog post.
Usually Tohou figures are expensive cause they are limited in stock, exclusive to some stores or just high in demand. I HAD a ‘like’ and retweet button just didn’t prefer it at the top of the page. I have the share options at the bottom of each of my posts now instead for better aesthetics and the button at the top right corner of the post would screw around with the alignment of pictures and text at the top.
The bit about limited stock is totally marketing. They are already flooding the market, you can find them in so many stores in akiba, as for exclusiveness that only applies to some but not all. As for high demand, I would have to say that’s subject to relativity. The demand isn’t as high as say haruhi or kei-on yet the prices are a multiple of those figure’s prices.
About the facebook features, this one is different. This one you can actually see who has liked the article, and who has commented, which is different from merely “sharing”.. You might want to consider it as it’s quite nifty. Even danny choo has it on some of his pages..
Yeah i thought it was obvious that i didn’t mean all touhou figures. I mean you CAN find them in akiba but the ones in limited stock…look at the prices, the older ones will cost an arm or a leg, stores like animate and such for the sole purpose (well not really) are places you can find such rare goods. Demand doesn’t have to be high for them to set a high price its just one of the reason why the prices are set high, thats all.
Facebook, meh, sharing is good enoguh for me, i don’t want to clutter my blog as it is, nice and simple is good enough for me. If people like it i guess people will share it through the widgets already added at the bottom of the page or maybe leaving a comment saying so. I’m happy how things are for the blog right now, i’d rather be more concerned at the loading of redundant scripts and jquery stuff in the background of my pages. Trying to make my blog mobile friendly.
I do like the Nenodroid version, but this one is far superior in every way. It is worth the price.
Agreed, she was worth every penny. As you can probably tell I’m more of a scaled person than an action figure one
Where do u buy this ?
From the AmiAmi which sells other Japanese figures online.
