Trauma Team

I was invited by Invic about a month back for a Trauma Team photoshoot. As you can see he, Drefan and Swiftfeather took the roles of Gabriel Cunningham, CR-S01 and Hank Freebird. Probably one the the most fun photoshoots I’ve had so far, plus it was a great chance to explore what Republic Polytechnic had to offer as it isn’t everyday I make a trip up there.

Every photoshoot I try to learn something new and take note of difficulties encountered so I can improve myself, in this case I found it difficult to shoot emotionless characters (in this case CR-S01) and what made it harder is that he is a character without any notable accessories. Most of the time I’m used to seeing characters with big swords, instruments, books, fancy armour and such. I did my best to overcome this challenge by putting extra effort into finding an exceptional background if not the photos produced will seem very plain.

Another way to overcome this is by highlighting certain aspects of each of the characters. For Gabriel it would be his hair, coloured coat, cheerful smile and cigarette. For CR-S01 his blood red eyes and cold emotionless stare. Finally for Hank it would be his hairdo, blue shirt and muscular body. After realizing this, having weapons does make composing the shot a lot easier but having it easy like this won’t allow me to improve will it now. With a little extra effort, careful placement and exploration one can still produce a decent to fantastic shot no matter who the character.

After realizing what I wrote in the paragraphs seen above I shall write about one difficulty or improvement made with each post or photoshoot as it will help me keep track on how I improve myself over time as well for others to learn from my own observations or mistakes.
