Last weekend the Chingay Parade took place last weekend. What is Chingay might you ask? Well its definately not a racist remark, don’t make the same mistake that where I mistook the word for ‘Chinagay’. Anyway quick fun fact Chingay is:
An annual street parade held in Penang, Malaysia and Singapore as part of Chinese New Year festivities. The term Chingay itself originated in Southeast Asia, particularly in Penang, which means “a decorated miniature stage” or float.
As you can see this year they decided to incorporate cosplayers as part of the festival. I found the event to be poor organized however the amount of fun mixing and socializing with the cosplayers made up for that. As this as my first Chingay parade I found it to be ok but it could use a little improvement here and there especially with the managing and organizing part.
Anyway enough of me blabbering, you can find both day 1 and day 2 pictures here.
