It was only over a week ago Anime Festival Asia 2011 was held at Suntec City Convention Centre in Singapore. I think those were were there from start to finish can agree that entire couple of days went by extremely quickly.
I took this time to meetup with fellow friends from WLNF as well as other comrades whom I don’t usually see often such as Gordon, Zenical, Fabrice, Ong_YT, FuuriZero, Irudono, Hexlord, and Yunamon along with several new faces such as F.Yukino, Tatsuya and Vincent
Aside from meeting up with friends there was also the concerts which everyone was so eagerly awaiting at the end of each day. For myself I managed to attend Day 2 – FLOW, LiSA, Ichiro Mizuki and Sea?A as well as Day 3 – Angela, Kalafina, Kanako Itou, May’n and Milky Holmes.
The concert itself turned out to be rather intense with much screaming and cheering from myself. As a result I fell ill (along with many others) mainly due to overexertion and consecutive late nights and funny enough people dubbed the sickness ‘Post AFA Syndrome’ which I felt was quite accurate.
With the third floor being occupied by a medical event of some kind many of the cosplayers were either situated the meeting rooms or the just outside the convention hall on level four meaning that there wasn’t much room for photo taking let alone walking. I also took this time to tets out my new mini soft-box for my flash unit which turned out reasonably well for some photos. Normally there would be sufficient lighting from the windows or the usage of a reflector I found the soft-box was able to enhanced some photos whilst at the same time it rendered some photos to be horribly unusable, however it was deemed a success nonetheless but will require some practice before further usage.
